Do you want a long detailed training or a bite-sized course that can be viewed on your phone? Most people would choose the latter. Microlearning refers to segmented and bite-size pieces of content that help learners absorb information and achieve success in a course. This micro-course can include multimedia such as videos, infographics, and short quizzes. Usually the course lasts a few minutes for learners to finish quickly.
Putting microlearning into practice
The microlearning I have developed is an employee timesheet training. The course will address the knowledge gap that exists in the company. New or even existing employees are confused about how to complete their timesheet. This course will remedy this problem.
As you can see below, all the elements of microlearning are present. Short training duration, one objective, short videos, one topic, and it can be consumed via mobile. The training will have two short videos, a flash card activity, and a quiz. The total time of completion for this micro-course is five minutes.
